Dining seats often carry food and drink marks. Headboards collect hair and skin oils. Deep-buttoned chairs hold dust in places that a quick vacuum can miss. Identifying where and how the furniture is used helps guide the assessment.
Linen, cotton, velvet, wool blends and synthetic upholstery behave differently when exposed to moisture. Trims, decorative buttons, timber frames and mixed materials must also be considered. Fabric care should follow the item’s needs rather than a fixed treatment for everything.
Leather requires a separate decision
Leather care is not fabric extraction. Coated, aniline, suede and other finishes require different products and techniques. Send clear photos and any manufacturer instructions; availability and suitability are confirmed individually. Do not use fabric-cleaning products on leather.

A sofa can look tidy while dust, skin flakes and pet hair collect around seams, seats and backrests. Upholstery cleaning starts with the fabric and the places that can safely be reached.
Where dust mites fit in
Dust mites are microscopic and feed on shed skin. Mattresses and upholstered furniture can harbour them; their allergens can aggravate allergies or asthma in sensitive people. Even a clean home cannot be made completely mite-free.
Tell us about the fabric, removable cushions and any delicate trim. We assess suitability before proposing a method for accessible seats, seams and backrests. Please mention any previous treatments.
Between professional cleans
Vacuum with a HEPA-filter vacuum, wash bedding regularly according to its care label, and consider allergen-proof mattress and pillow covers. Managing indoor humidity also matters.
Cleaning is not a treatment for allergies. If symptoms are a concern, speak with a healthcare professional.

About upholstery cleaning.
Can different chairs be included in one enquiry?
Yes. List the quantity of each type and include a photo of every different fabric. This helps distinguish, for example, six dining seats from two fully upholstered armchairs.
Can cleaning repair worn upholstery?
Cleaning addresses dirt and some marks. It does not repair loose stitching, worn pile, torn fabric or damaged padding. These may require an upholsterer.
